About My Dad, Rob Maxey
Rob Maxey's journey with Youth for Christ (YFC) in Sacramento began as a volunteer, but in 1998, he felt God calling him to join the ministry full-time. Rob and his wife, Mickey, initially opened their home to the youth of the Roseville/Granite Bay area to share the good news of Jesus. In 2006, feeling called to create a dedicated space for teenagers to find community, safety, and hear about Jesus, Rob built a facility on his property known as The Barn. The Barn has become a beacon in the Sacramento community, where Rob, his family, and the YFC team have shared the message of Jesus with thousands of lost teenagers. Rob served as the Executive Director of YFC in Sacramento from 2012 until his passing in April 2017. While he focused on directly impacting high school students through his ministry, the Rob Maxey Education Fund continues his legacy by supporting students as they step into their futures after high school.
